shattered my drive shaft this afternoon

Post by marc79euro645 »

Coming home with groceries in the trunk. I got a little crazy & stabbed the clutch in 2nd expecting the predictable drift and burn I love. Instead all hell broke loose,I thought it was gonna come right up through the floor. After getting towed home, I got a chance to jack it up and see the damage. Amazingly, the drive shaft is the only damage, the front portion twisted and torn to pieces. I picked up several big chunks of drive shaft shrapnel from the road.
I blame the groceries.

Last time I read about this, it was Bill in MN. You got out lucky! Of course, his was a one-piece driveshaft.
