resonator to quiet down turbo exhaust?

Post by charofire »

Can anyone recommend a resonator that they use that will quiet down a turbo 3" exhaust? Muffler is magnflow. It's too noisy.

Get the biggest muffler you can fit.
oval muffler are quieter then round. Why? I don't know.

What size do you have now? 18''?

Are you running a cat? With cat is quieter than without. If you don't have one, there's got to be a muffler that can fit in that space that would quiet things down for you. The cat/extra muffler won't be SILENT, but it'll be quieter than running just a rear muffler.

What exhaust do you have now? TCD?

I have tried two mufflers so far. First was a round one that filled the entire space, and then the magnaflow. Its just way too noisy still. I was hoping someone had a recommendation for a resonator or something that would really quiet things done. I am running a magnflow cat as well.

I'm 95% sure that is Photoshopped ... but on the other hand some really odd "Tips" have been added to cars.

Yes.

Put as much muffler you can fit under the car.
I'm not talking about 16'' flowmasters.

See if you can use two 23'' oval magnaflows. It'll
be quieter then shit.

What length Magnaflow are you using? Too short will be loud. I'm using the 3" diameter 18" body muffler. If thats too loud I don't know what to tell you. Sell the car and start collecting stamps or something.

Hey OP. For real no bullshit.
Check out my rear muffler.
Quiet enough. Put another in the center too, it'll sound sick with just the turbo/motor sound.

The car is too low so all I could use was a crappy 18'' glasspack in the center.

I ended up with 2 mufflers--had to put my stock IS springs back on because my clearance sucked. O well. It's bearable now.
