Dyno time again!

Post by clongo »

Heading over in about 15min. Hoping this new setup put's down some decent #'s. Here is a thread from the last time I was at the dyno.

http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=95 ... light=dyno

I am now running a upgraded 745i turbo, A/W intercooler, custom downpipe with wastegate recirc, 50lb injector's, PF tuning MS2 extra with EBC, ARP headstuds, MLS HG, 15psi. I will post dyno charts and datalog's shortly after. Wish me luck!

It's always nerve racking. Will they let you operate the car on the dyno?.......they won't here. That REALLY bugs me.

How are you going to start the thread before you have a chart to put up? Three hours later, still nothing.

No news is usually bad news with a dyno run. BTDT.....a few times

Nothing like blowing a HG on the dyno.

That was at 17psi, right? That'd make Todd pretty spot on at the 15psi you mentioned in the first post.

Figuring out why my car run's like crap now.

While on the dyno my laptop died because I didn't see the battery warning. I'm running a dell mini 9 so I have my bottom status bar set to dissapear so I have more room on the screen for TS. We had the car turned on when the laptop died but it wasn't running. I plug the laptop in and let the car sit for about 30 min to cool off. Hope back in the car, and it run's like garbage. Whenever I give it throttle it goes way lean and wants to die for about 2 seconds. If i'm cruising in gear it runs fine, but any throttle response makes it go way lean for a second.

I tried reflashing firmware this morning. Unfortunately that didn't work. I'm not sure if its a TS issue or something mechanical and its a bad coincidence. I just find it very odd that before the laptop died everything was running perfect and after It run's like crap. Any advice from the MS experts? I took a datalog this morning and will post it up.

I haven't had a chance to check for vacuum leaks yet either. I got home around 1am this morning and am at work now. Again, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Here is the datalog. I was giving it throttle while cruising to show how it goes way lean.

I am not the MS expert but sounds like the MS is corrupted.

Email me the dwf file? I'll post the graph.

Are you referring to the processor or just the firmware? I'm thinking about trying a older firmware to see what happens.

I don't think its the firmware. I just tried flashing the latest release and its still doing the same thing. Whenever I give it throttle it goes way lean and almost dies for a second. Doesn't matter if its at idle or while cruising in any gear.

Did you lose the TPS signal or sensor?

How about sensor calibration? Check to see if your MAP and TPS are reading correctly.

First thing I would check as well.
