I sent the WG and plate off to TiAL to get a new diaphragm and valve. I tried installing it on a different elbow when I got it back. It didn't want to fit on snug. Did you port out the inside a little for more valve clearance or do I just need to quit being a pansy and tighten it down?

I did no machining of the elbow. Check for interference between the mating parts and correct as needed.

The studs are fine, it's just the angle of the pic

What do you mean by "mating parts"? I'm pretty sure it's the valve bottoming out on the inside of the elbow. This elbow has never been used so maybe they get worn down overtime??

Have you tried assembling without the spring in the WG? The valve is under spring pressure to keep it seated. Most likely you just need to compress it.

You think it's better to install it with the spring out and then put the spring in? Opposed to just tightening it down with the spring already installed?

Just seems weird that it bottoms out on the new elbow and not on the old even.

Thanks for the help on this.

Also, are you interested in making anymore of these plates?
