MadMax turbo e28

Post by Les »

Long term follower, but don't spend much time online.
This may be my first real post.

Project was a turbo engine from an e34 with 150km
going into an e28 with 400km on the body

Long story short, this has been sidelined for almost 2 years due to long standing health issues ... thanks multiple sclerosis.

You only live once, so, my new year resolution has been to not give up on this project and have it running by May.
Standalone, e34 diff, e34 seats and e32 brakes to start...
new paint and new suspension hopefully by next winter.

Patience patience patience...

backseat's will be permanently removed to make room for a custom dog bench (95lb german shepherd to cart around)
More pictures to come, as they come.
Cheers.

Dan,

Have a spare e34 pumpkin with low mileage, was hoping to swap that in for the 2.5x more mileage e28 diff

Though, I am not finding too much online in terms of successful ventures
leading to believe that this is either:
a) not reasonably possible, or
b) not financially realistic

I suppose a z3 swap is the easier move ?
probably less headache as well ...

You can get anything from a 2.79 to a 4.10 in the e28/e30 diff lineup, and they literally bolt right in. Mileage wise a 2.79 or 2.93 limited slip would be the hot ticket.

I'm fairly certain the e34 diff is not swappable.

early 520i have the e28 setups on 'em with
the two bolts on top,but will need to swap the rear covers over.
