63 The hopefully daily driver is Sort of a flying joke ... automatic with the factory air dam & rear wing ... 95.000 mi.(seems accurate) IP leaks (of course) & will need a windshield. Will be fishing this site for parts as i just paid the dealer 40 some bucks for a fuel filter!

*just for future reference if you guys want to add to this list. just copy and paste the list that's been in previous posts and then add your car to it. Please don't go into to much detail, save that for your build thread. This is essentially just a register to see how man TD guys are on here. Just give your name, the year, color combo and weather or not the car is a stick or an auto. Honestly I've been tempted to make a new thread because I have no clue how many of these guys on this list are even still on here or still have 524td's.

I just added #68 and #69. My 1985 I have had for 15 years and 380,000 miles and the engine has given up but the vehicle itself is in great shape.
My 1986 Canadian market, just purchased from the original owner,through a broker, always garage kept 107,000. miles in extremely original condition, very well maintained car which I feel is a very rare find
and glad to have found it as I had become very attached to my 1985 and would really have missed this model.

Stu here from Fairfax VA, just joined this group.

Parents have a 524TD 1985 that's been with the family since the beginning. Bought in Germany when parents were stationed there, moved back to the states, had kids, back to Germany again, engine overhaul around 2005 don't know all the details, now back in the states, now it mostly sits. Odometer went at 150k, possibly has 190k now.

Currently drives nicely. I could easily swap things like the suspension and improve the ride, but it'd be silly to do that if the engine isn't healthy. Even though it is healthy, I want to learn more about it and how to maintain it given how rare it is.

My mechanical experience on engines is practically none, only have gone as far as replacing a thermostat on my sienna and cleaning the throttle body. I know that it hurts you guys to read this that someone like myself has such a beautiful car but don't know squat about engines, rest assured I won't be an idiot and blowup the car.
