Post by BMW Performance »

What engine mounts do I need to put an M106 in a 635?

I tried an 85 m30b34 mount and it will not clear the turbo. Are you talking about the 83-84 mount?

The 533/633 mount still hits the turbo housing no matter how I clock the turbo.

People do it all the time so I know it can be done I am just missing something.

I was like you thinking the 84 mount would work but I am hitting the cold side.

You need an early 633-635 motor mount up to 82.

Are you sure the early mounts will work on the later sub frame?

I have a B35 with a m106 turbo setup in my e28. I put in a e34 b35 mount mounted upside down and it cleared the frame rail and the turbo intake. I think I have a pic somewhere.

I’m running the 533 mount on my 89 635csi. It’s tight but it fits.

Quick question: When one says mounts, are we referring to the rubber mount, or the engine mounting bracket, and or both? Thank you in advance,

I was referring to the bracket. I'm using the OE rubber mounts for my vehicle. One thing to note is that new mounts (the rubber part) can be the difference between clearance and interference on the turbo side.
