BOV options

Post by 5timesturbo »

Recently I was told that i can not run a HKS BOV on my turbo 535i with stock engine management. I was told my only option is a BOV that reroutes the air back in front of the mass air flow sensor. Is this correct? Ifso does this mean I wastedmy money on a hks ssqv bov?

If you blow off, the engine won't read the air being discharged and you will instead get a rich condition as the engine expects more air. When I had Motronic, I used a divertor valve from a VW to plumb back in after the AFM but before the turbo...

What Tom said is correct. Depending on the boost level and fueling the engine might stumble with the overly rich condition. A diverter valve will eliminate this issue.

i don't know anything about your setup but just by the comments you have the AFM right before the turbo?

There is a DV adapter for that hks so you can still use it that way.

Are you not running a valve now?
