Hello!

I'm in dire need of one of these! Any updates on another group sale? I'm hoping with this crazy pandemic going around one has more time to make some over center springs :)

Fortunately I’m still very busy in my daytime job, which unfortunately means the Rev. 2 spring isn’t done yet.
But we are very close.

I’ve gotten a ton of messages, please just hang in there a little longer.

Hi Ben,

My spring just broke today. I would very much like to get a new one from you rather than OEM.

Would it be possible to get one sent to me in the next few weeks?

Thanks and Regards,

Blue

Im in for one. Have you thought about having them manufactured? You look like you've already got the cad done. You could probably have these done in quantity for far less work and still make a profit, if not more than you are now. Just a thought since there seems to be a demand for them. Batch manufacturing isnt as exspensive as people think.
Mine broke this morning but I had no idea what it was. I posted of Facebook and they led me here. Nice.

I’m actually running these through a small machine shop of a friend of mine, we are working on the development together.
Changing the material from 4340 alloy steel to 7075 Aluminium takes some measures to be 100% sure the product works. And keeps working.

Once all details are clear, it’s easy to get these knocked out if the machine is empty.

Hi , these look amazing. My car is out of order awaiting these. If I don’t get one I’ll be forced to get an oem. Looking forward to the upgrade!

Gave my unit to a guy in UP of Michigan and wouldn't you know it my clutch master failed 2 months later! Timing is everything. I may be in for another one in the future anyway.

First sample is together and will go in my car.
I’m testing it for about 2 weeks, while we get the hard anodizing trials done on the sample shafts.

Once that is completed, I will start taking orders for the serial parts.

I understand driving season is coming up or here already. But I can’t skip proper testing for a new development.

The question cake up if Rev. 2 is any better?
It’s lighter! Weight savings are important. But on a serious note: we had to change materials to get the machining time under control. We did underestimate that for the last run and would have had to raise prices to $160 or more.
We came up a with a new design, which will still be way over engineered. People have actually asked if we are working on aircraft landing gear.
Summarized: it will be the same functionally like Rev. 1, but we will be able to hold the price of $140 a piece, while keeping the function the same.

More pictures to tease you guys!

I replaced the spring in my 535 today with the new Aluminium prototype.
Never seen something butchered like this, but I’ll add it to the list. Someone replaced the spring at some point. Instead of using the factory shoulder bolt they went with a double threaded bolt which ate through the bushing quickly.

Clutch feels nice and smooth again!
I highly recommend using the pedal box reinforcement kit at the same time, when putting the new spring in. Always crazy to see how much it flexes without the plate.

Preliminary timing at this point:

Start preorders: 5/31
Shipment of the first 30 pieces: 6/11
Shipment of the remainder: 6/30

I also corrected the price in my statement above, $140 is the correct pricing.
This includes the hard anodized shaft.

I will announce the preorder date in here and the first 30 payments chronologically will be on the list for shipment on 6/11.

Besides the weight savings, the first REV has no drawbacks correct?

Thanks Ben,
