Hi everyone! It's been a minute (a lot more than a minute) since I was last on these forums, but I wanted to share some BMW-related updates with anyone who still remembers this thing. The electric city car project was put on the back burner in 2019 and replaced with a hydrogen hypercar project which was going well until Covid hit. My advisory team consisting of former automotive executives from JLR and Aston Martin stayed with me (and that list of people has grown quite a bit since!) while I relocated back to California to pursue a unique opportunity to restart my automotive ambitions in Los Angeles with a childhood friend. Three years ago we founded Shoreline Bespoke Vehicles and set out to develop a road-legal 1960's Le Mans prototype reincarnated as a modern sports car. It's called Laguna, and our running prototype debuted 10 days ago as a rolling chassis in Tiburon, California. Oh, and it's powered by a 1649cc BMW inline-6! We have pre-sold the first three cars and we are currently in talks to finalize our first external investment. We will be at Monterey Car Week this year as well! This forum gave me so much help when I was first learning how to design a chassis in high school, and I wanted to share how far I've come
