Euro M5 in Minneapolis

Post by stuartinmn »

i was at Eurotech Auto Service in New Brighton today and there was a euro M5 there for service. Black exterior/interior, 17" style 5 wheels, and some type of aftermarket body kit. Was it anyone here? I haven't seen the car before.

True euro, or b/b Canadian/US model w/ euro bumpers?

I didn't look for a VIN, but besides the bumpers and black interior it had euro lights and I noticed the speedometer was in km/hr and the seats were manual and not power. I have an M535i, so I can usually spot euro cars. :)

There's only one other euro M5 around here that I know of, the ex- Johnny Miller / Ron Perry car that belongs to board member prizefighter (he hasn't been on the board for years, but as far as I know he still has the car.)

Hey Stuart, I just saw this post and figured it must be Andy (prizefighter's) car but you're sure it was a different one?  Did you see if it was a DC91 vin?

Separate topic, I'm registered for Vintage in May, are you interested in attending and driving your M535i with me?

It was definitely a different car; for one thing it was straight black, instead of Diamondschwarz like his car.  I didn't think about checking for a VIN until after I left (interestingly, when I pointed it out as being a euro car or at least a euro conversion to the store manager he wasn't aware of it).  I'll have to think about The Vintage - my health is better these days but I'm still not sure if I'm up for an extended road trip.
