F/S: Set of Naked Throwing Stars with Polished Lip SOLD

I'm selling my favorite set of rims, Naked Throwing Star Rims with polished lip. 17 x 8 et 20. These are all Forged rims not cast.

They are in Perfect Condition, no scratches, no marks, no curb rash. I made a hub cover which is a flush mount and applied a roundel. IMHO, They look great.

I am running Yokahama Yk520 with at least 75% of tread life remaining, A Temp, A Traction, 520 Treadwear. 225 x 45H 17

What did you use for center caps?

So what'd they use for hubcaps on those M5 I-beam wheels on the Six? I've got 'em for snows on my E34 and can't stand the fans, so I took them off.

I used some marine polymer board called Starboard, easy stuff to work with, sands and cuts like wood. I cut out a perfect size disc to fit the hub and mounted flush to the rim. It's a friction fit with silicone on the inside and added a flat BMW Roundel, definitely needed if going naked.

Those wheels are even sexier in person than they are in the pictures.

It's sad to see it go Doug, but sometimes you just know it's time. It was such a beautiful car. Cost can be quite prohibitive though.

Doug, the wheels look great, as do your pictures as always.

On the topic of center caps, Ed MacVaugh was one of the early adopters of the naked throwing-star wheels on an E28 M5, way back in the mid-'90s. He found that some M-B wheels have a centercap that fits well with some minor trimming of tabs or something like that ... I'd have to dig through my Yahoo! account to find a 10-year-old UUC Digest post for details. The self-adhesive Roundels come in a range of sizes as well. So for those of you who want an over-the-counter solution, take some measurements and go bug a Benz parts-guy.
