Wanted: Catalytic Converter----1987 535i Manual

Post by pldlnr »

Hey guys, I need a catalytic for my '87 535i manual. I can't afford $400 bucks that was quoted at the local exhaust shop. Anybody have a good used one or a tip on where to find an "economical" new one. Price with shipping to 98367?

Much appreciated.

I bought a brand new stainless Magnaflow high flow on ebay for around $200 shipped.

I should add, I live in Washington, but my car is a California emission spec car. Can I just use a 50 state federal cat, or do I have to get the Cali version?

You can get one on ebay $50-$100 and just have it welded on. WA doesn't care were it came from as long as it passes.

Your old one is worth $200 to $250 if it is a 'three biscuit' converter, I sold one on ebay for $235 and another to a recycling company for $225. I previously posted the contact info for the recycler - just search if interested.

Eazy way to pay for a new one!
