Problems posting pictures with my posts.

Post by Jon Ackermann »

I am having problems posting pictures with any posts in the parts for sale thread.

I have asked for help from other members here on the forum and followed their detailed instructions, but still no luck.

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanks for any help.

Here is the URL to the uploader. If you have any questions, PM me.

I do not know what you are doing, but the general idea is that you must upload them to a website.
Then you get a direct link to just the image.
Once you do that, you add these to each side of the direct link:

I have followed the EXACT instructions on the uploader here on this site. The picture gets uploaded fine, but when I ask the img to be added to my post, all it does is show the uploaded picture in script, but does not add the picture to my post.

Is there something wrong with my profile that will not allow the picture to be posted.

I had no problem adding my avatar.

Thanks.

Post a picture in this thread and we'll figure out what's going wrong. Either that or give us a link to a post where it happened. Not much we can offer if we can't see the issue you're referring to.

Step 1: Go to Uber Uploader, browse and click on desired picture.

Step 2: Click "Upload" at the bottom.

Step 3: Next to the bold text "Image Tag," copy everything starting with [img]and%20ending%20with[/img]. The uploader generates the picture already formatted for the website.

Step 4: Paste what you just copied into thread. DO NOT click any of the "Img" buttons above the text box, the picture is already formatted!!

Voila!

Also different forums do not all the the same code. This method will allow you to post pictures on most online forums, but not all accept the same code.

Say I want to post this image (which has already been uploaded on another website--that is how you can see it).

The link must be the direct link to the image and only the image, just like the one above.
You must user the e28 uploader, or another website like imageshack to be able to get this 'direct link' (after uploading it from your computer to their website)

Then add [img]and[/img] to both sides and it should work.

Try it here and see what happens.

OK

I just posted an add in the parts for sale area and added a picture in the post.

Auto shifter in mint condition.

But no luck.

What am I doing wrong.

Thanks again for your help.

Also:

Once the picture is posted on the uploader, how do you view the pictures previously uploaded. Can they be deleted ?

Thanks

I set him straight on the picture posting, but don't know about browsing the uploader.

Links, Jon! Links!!

Help us help you. ;) Moose, thanks for setting him straight, whatever the issue was.

Browsing the uploader is possible, but there's no way for the browser to know which files were uploaded by a specific person, so it can't show you "your" files. Best bet is to bookmark the files after uploading.

I'm sure KillerPM can delete them if you really needed him to, but you'd need to provide a specifc file name at the least. The actual link would be better.

Are you not paying attention to the code that pops up after the upload is done?
