Topic reply notifications

Post by LA »

Hope I am not wasting the time of the many cyber jocks here...but - I noticed someone else posted that they were not getting the topic reply notifications by email anymore. I've had that problem for awhile. Shawn checked and told me it was not on the boards end. He suggested I talk with my ISP. I did and they said it was not them....later I learned that my ISP, AT&T, uses some sort of 'webmail' feature involving Yahoo even if you use Explorer as your browser.

Well - a problem with Explorer- ISP compatibality came up and I had to stop using explorer and switch to AT&T Yahoo webmail. Guess what - there was a SPAM filter file with all of the my mye28 topic notifications! BTW- all the good porno stuff too. ;) Way too many to go through so I just deleted them.

Damn! :argue: No telling how many opportunities to argue with Jeremy I've missed. Anyway - Things are working again. Thanks Shawn for your help - you knew more about my ISP than THEY did! :alright:

Glad you figured it out, although about 3 months ago I suggested you log into your email via the web interface and check whether the messages were hitting the BellSouth/AT&T spam filter ;)

Justin, this is the TRUTH: I did not know what that meant!! I do remember your suggestion though...

I now understand what you were saying, but, at the time, I did not know the ISP had an additional email system other than the explorer on my PC. Neither did the service rep I spoke with....

It took the Explorer/AT&T problem to drive me to do what you suggested! Thanks again.

Yeah, they sure don't make it very clear on how to manage the spam filters. Most people just use a POP3 client on their PC, rather than the web mail interface.
