Can we simply limit the size of sig pictures?

We do it for avatars, why not for sig pics? It is a never-ending task to ask individually. If we simply limited the size so the javascript isn't invoked, a lot of folks might even turn the signatures back on!

Not so much just the signature photos, but the size of the signature overall. Some sites have a size limit and won't allow you to make changes over that size, and others allow you to do whatever, but only a certain amount shows up. I prefer the latter.

That doesn't limit the size of the file, only the size of its address. I don't think we're slowed too much by text and text enhancements, but by the external files that are loaded.

I've been told that it can't be done on the current version of the board software. The sig is looked at as part of the post, and the character limit for sigs doesn't (can't) take picture size into account. We can't automate it, so we're stuck policing ourselves for the time being.
