My Euro 635csi Alpina B7S Turbo E24 Resto Thread

Post by AlpinaE24 »

So here she is, in all her glory. This car has unknown origins, other then the fact it was imported 2 months after it was built by Ferrari of Tulsa. 69,000 Miles, has been sitting in a storage unit for 15 years. I have a complete MS2 and Glens Garage idle board..I have a lot of comprehending to do on the MS front but it seems pretty straight forward and you guys seem to know whats going on. I'm planing on running something like the T04e todd put on his euro 535..I gotta see what fits the Alpina Manifold though. Have 42lb injectors also, I'll be happy with 400rwhp for now..

Aside from the turbo goodness the car is getting all new suspension, brakes, bushings etc. Going over everything. Also respraying the undercoating and painting every piece under the car..shes gonna be pretty.

Anyhow, here are some pictures..I just got the whole front end out tonight. Gotta get the trans off, engine on the stand, and fire up the wire wheel.

I had to drive from Phoenix to Philadelphia and back to pick my darling up. 5,000 miles in 10 days, with a stop off in texas to buy a door from 1st 5er. Thanks again Sherman!

A dirty engine bay with everything placed showcasing the insta-jizz alpina turbo setup this is a 3.5 B7S. I'm gonna be using a B35 harness for a nice clean install of the MS.

Image
Should look a little something like this B7S that ditched the Pierburg stuff.

If a buddy asks for help pulling the turbo off his B7 run and hide.

Shes mad at me now..

This car had an electromotive ignition put in at some point, here is the nifty trigger wheel they put in. Not sure which route I'm gonna go with spark..I do have a complete EDIS6 setup though.

Gotta pull the rear sub frame out tomorrow, time to burn some cash in the Bavarian oven.

The 745i looks concerned and aroused..

Thats gonna be a fun restoration...........I hope that you do not need any Alpina specific replacement parts.

With that cam wheel, it was running full sequential injection. Imagine that, tuning each individual cylinder for timing and fuel....that will take some time but will be the best EFI ever!

Thanks for all the comments guys, I've been working and riding my bike a good amount haven't got much done lol. Got the engine bay cleaned and prepped for the lower rad support to be painted..getting some paint from Tower for it. I have about $1700 in parts in my AutohausAZ cart and thats just OEM stuff. Still gotta do suspension, brakes, management, and a new turbo.

My 11 week old doberman puppy likes the 745i :D

Man I so want a lift in my shop sooooooooo so bad. ;) Wow you have some great cars looking forward to seeing your build process. I am coming out to Phoenix in the near future to look at relocating . Perhaps the locals can all meet up one night.

Good luck with your new toy . Johnny ;)

Thats a nice piece, the car had a cover but it was just sheet metal that never got painted lol. I think I might just run a dizzy to make my life simpler atleast until its up and running on MS. Then i'll probably go over to wasted spark of some variety.

Tiny update, got a B35 crank wheel and senor at pick'n-pull today. Along with some other cool stuff, near new volvo turbo with no shaft play for my VW rail. I also picked up a damn nice master cylinder for my e23 for $15.

 they didn't even charge me for it

Turbo with downpipe and recirc was $55 compared to my beat K27

The shark has taken a back seat lately to a few other things, got my rail up and running 12psi for around $300. Its a good time. Also got this 84 318i that is getting its M50 installed this week.

I got my injector situation figured out, just ground the injector heads down a little bit..gotta get thinner o-rings and make some brackets for the fuel rail and I'll be good. The B35 harness will clear the Alpina manifold. All new suspension parts and bilstiens are coming in this week. Also have all the gaskets I need for her to go back together. Setting up my MS2 with my bosch 55 pin DIYBOB from DIYautotune..what a great product and company. It should be a very clean install with the B35 harness.

The engine is getting everything painted this weekend, should look awesome afterwards.
