Jerry's TT Tiger....getting faster and faster.

Post by Duke »

http://youtu.be/vejzbfc3Evk
This is a 9.91 @ 136 about a year ago.

Here he reports his best - the best time so far has been 9:46 @146 but I have been behaving because the car needs more cage and more saftey equipment. The car goes into the 9's eay now and is staying together

Best yeat....he drives to the track...runs in the 9s and then drives home.

OK....so a TWIN TURBO Tiger is not welcome in the FI....what if the Tiger has a FI M30 in it, cool then?

well then, what about a turbocharged Chebby V8 in a E28?? Is that OK.......or should that be in the general conversation section too?

You already know the answer, but yes, that'd be an appropriate thread for that forum.

It's in an e28, so that's also an appropriate thread for that forum.

A turbocharged Tiger has no BMW content and no e28 related content aside from the fact that it's got a snail on it. By your logic, Toyota Supra content would be appropriate for our turbo section, as would Nissan 240SX content, or Omni Turbo content ... but those all belong in General Conversation, just like this thread does.

Which is exactly why I moved it here.

Or a tiger forum would be more appropriate.

Because it was posted by a long time mye28 member who currently owns an e28 and asked an intelligent question.

He doesn't own an E28. Long time member, yes. Still, that doesn't sound like a good enough reason.

I am just as tired of the Tiger stuff as everyone else.

Very slippery slope Jeremy - http://www.mye28.com/viewtopic.php?t=100153

Was not trying to start crap or stir the pot. Just surprised at what seems to be something new going on here. Huge props to Todd for the FI trail blazing he has accomplished, but; it struck me as a "don't clutter my forum" when he is also exploring the US V8 venue as I have. With that, I know now where the Turbocharged V8 not in a BMW chassis topics go.

It is a slippery slope. Duke, you do get treated differently because you post so passionately about your Tiger. While most appreciate your pursuits with your personal car, most do not appreciate the posts about Tiger's in general. I will only be posting about the evolution of my personal cars not turbo lsx in general.

I'm aware. The point is that you can't start picking and choosing what non-E28/M20/M30-related FI stuff isn't allowed in there. I don't care who the poster is. Either way, it was simply an example. There are others.

There is no "picking and choosing". There IS "stuff that gets seen and stuff that doesn't".

If a Beamter sees it and it doesn't belong, it gets moved. If someone brings it to our attention and it doesn't belong, it gets moved.

Believe it or not, we can't look at every single post on every subforum here. We're not omniscient. That said, most people are well behaved and/or know where things should go. It's not exactly a rampant problem. Out of nearly two thousand threads in Forced Induction, there's probably no more than a handful that might not belong there. I just looked over the most recent five pages of that forum and didn't see anything that appeared to be out of place. Threads from Enchanter, Duke, and Paul had already been moved, and I didn't see any more. That's 3 threads out of 200 in the wrong forum. Again, not exactly a rampant problem.

If you see more, let me know.
