T3 Adaptor For Stock 745i Manifold Interest?

I am looking into getting an adapter flange made for the factory 745i turbo manifold. It would go from a k27 mount to a standard t3 mount.

The design would has been drafted up and the machine shop is ready to go at it. I am going to get one made for my e12 T Build but I was curious if anyone else may be interested.

Right now it is looking between 100-150 for a complete bolt on kit to put a t3 on the k 27 manifold. It would keep it within 1/2 to 3/4 an inch off the manifold so it could still be used as a bottom mount manifold if you would like it to.

IT is going to be made so if you would like to enlarge the port of the k27 turbo manifold you can to match the t3 intake other wise it will be a gradual match to make it to the t 3. Wastegate block off plates will be available to.

Let me know the interest and I will have a bunch made up.

I should have pictures hopefully up within a week or so. He is making mine in the next couple days.

Good we have interest. I have my b32 in the e12, he should have the plate to me tomorrow or sometime early next week. When I get the plate i will put some pictures if it and some pics of it with a turbo mounted on the car.

We do have the option to make a t4 mount also if there are quite a few looking for one.

Didn't get the adapter today hopefully next week. We had a mild dusting of snow and people don't know how to handle that here, stopped by his shop he wasn't there.

Yep, he sent me a rough pic of one today. It hasn't been perfected yet. I am going down to his shop tomorrow to get better pics and talk more on price. He did tell me today that it will be more than $150 as it is taking more time on the mill than he thought.

We're going to try to work out a gasket solution between the manifold and adapter plate tomorrow while i am down there.

As in all custom fab parts the more people that buy them the cheaper they get. Ill work that out with him tomorrow.

Gotcha, have you spoke to him about possible wastegate adapters? So you can run more modern wastegates. Or the blockoff plates.

I also want one if the price stays reasonable. Especially if it's small enough to keep the turbo bottom mount.

I got held up at work today and didn't make it down to his shop, hopefully will make it there tomorrow.

As far as the block off plates, he is making me one as I am going to use a volvo turbo and they have internal wastegates; It will spool up quick on an m30. If anyone else would like one I am sure we could make one up for you if you buy a plate.

To adapt to a more modern wastegate I know someone on the interwebz makes an adaptor to a tial 38mm or something like that and its only 80 bucks. If someone know for a fact that this will not work on an e28 we can look into making some but I would have to have quite a few wanting one.

I would be interested in either/or a block of plate or a wastegate adapter. Moosehead enginerring used to make the wastegate adapters but I believe they have stopped producing them.

Yeah, No luck w/ Moosehead Engineering either. I was going to attempt to fab up my own, as Paul mentioned its not too involved for the Tial WG I purchased. But with limited time, $$, and material I don't see that happening. I now have the stock in place, I will test/use for now until something better comes along. I'd pay 80 for one yesterday.

I have an 86 635 (M30b34) and it fit . Its the same in the e28, but don't take my word for it.

38mm on the Tial.

I'm running that adapter as well. It fits fine with a 38mm Tial. Also, there are 2 different style flanges for the tial. One has a regular flat flange with 2 bolts and the other is a Vband. The flange is supplied with the wastegate when your purchase one new.

Ok here are pics of a roughly done plate. It is not complete but people want pics so here ya go. It will allow bottom mount of the turbo still on the car as I strapped it on my e12 to test fit. Let me know what you guys think obviously anything bought will be alot prettier and have gaskets and nuts and what not included.
I talked with the machine shop today and it looks like it is going to be $250 for an entire kit and if we can get a 100% from 10 or more people $220 each 20 or more $200 each.

As far as the wastegate stuff. It would be a few weeks after the plates are done until he has the chance to get to the adaptors.

The block off plates will be available for an extra cost-depending on how long it takes him on the mill to get the block off plate perfected; although the plates would be available with the orders of the adapter plate.

Definitely interested, please give us updates when possible.

The T4 adapter looks good, is there Anyway he can make the manifold side of the adapter port matched to the KKK flange, and than the turbo side of the adapter matched to the T4 flange? Probably would run a lot more though.

No its not $150 please see the post. It is a t3 mount not a t4 and yes he can port match it to an extent because the hole would end up pretty close to the wastegate hole. He is going to do it to mine and we were going to offer anyone else that would like it done to have it done or you could do it yourself just would be abit harder, the plate is aton of work to make for; the price I think its a fantastic deal.

Is that a sarcastic comment? Pretty sure you can buy a set of turbo headers from 666 fab for 1100.

I still think the plate will be better than the thing you strap onto exhaust manifolds. I do not like that idea.

it's not sarcastic. Just saying. That turbo adapter is 100x
more work then the flange.
Nobody makes turbo adapters like that ready to go
just like the adapter flange has to be a 1 off custom
It's going to be priced high too.

666 has already made a few and has a jig ready to pump them
out. I remember seeing the m20 adapters up there in price at
first, then it came down like $500 after more people started making them.
