Custom intake manifold?

I know a rather talented machine shop owner that i've been doing some horse trading with. He's working on one goodie for me already but it's super secret.

I'd love to do have him create a custom intake manifold for me, perhaps something tubular, mainly to look cool. Anyone done it? What were your issues? Any recommended reading?
