Looks Great Charlie! It's hard to tell the actual red because it seems too bright for your camera in the direct sunlight. I bet it's really beautiful in person!

I can only imagine what it looks like in person, the Zinno is quite stunning just in those photos. Bravo!

Last year at the Bonneville damn during the 5erDrive:
This year:
Notice the difference?
I'm pretty much as happy with the result as could be imagined. The paint turned out fantastic, the bumpers fit (almost) perfectly, and the car is driving like dream. With the help of Ivo Christov - E28 Specialist, and Wm. "The Oracle" Kohler, I discovered I had a 5-pin relay in the fuel relay socket instead of a 4-pin, hence the reluctance to start when hot. I lost AC as we approached the damn! but that was just a loose fuse. The B35 pulls super hard and is a smooth as a baby's bare ass. The E34 sport seats let me cruise all day in comfort. The chassis is tight and taut. Charlie's a happy boy.
Next up:
Pull the transmission to
- Put in correct throw out bearing
- Fix rear main seal leak
- Swap out the fu**ing UUC shifter which is a POS
I also have the 'new' rear sub-frame with adjustable camber that needs to go in.
And the exhaust. I don't really know what I'm going to do there yet. I got serious exhaust envy from Joel Daniels and the custom exhaust he build for his S52 '82 Polaris car.
Other little things that need to be done that will require removing the center console, a job I just LOVE doing. Not.
- Install circuit that will 'fix' the econometer.
- Kill the squeak from behind the instrument cluster.
- Install an antenna power kill switch/button.
Someday I'll find an excuse to pull the amplifier off of the back of the rear seat so I can finish installing my rear headrests (the parcel shelf now has the holes and trim, but I was too rushed last week to take the time to pull the amp).
I'm considering putting the BBS RZ's that are on Maytag on just to see the car looks with them. I might also put some tires on my BBS RSs...

I do believe Duke has officially passed the bragging torch to Charlie at this point.

I perceive that as negative commentary which I don't understand, because these online communities won't survive if people stop sharing their projects and experience with others.

Nothing negative, just stating the obvious. I like this car a bit more than Vinny anyway.

the transition is so wonderful, that it's acted as my muse. here's a little poem i wrote to capture your 48 pages of work.
My previous owner named me Vlad
back then my condition was really not bad
here comes along my current nut-case
who carefully took me to a new, higher place
new ass, new shoes, new face, new paint
seems the only thing untouched was my original taint
this transition feels great, like the car i wanted to be
hopefully you'll accept me as i now feel free
please let there be no jealousy or hatin'
and from here on out please call me "Caitlyn"

If I weren't in a meeting with a bunch of stiffs right now, I would have LOLed too. I had to catch myself. Thanks for that Troy.
