No, I'm sticking with my BavAuto headers.
It looks like the Euro version of this exhaust has a different hanger system vs. US. Is Vlad a Euro conversion? If so are you going to need to fab up a hanger for the rear section?

Already beat you to it. I'll be advertising curb services complete with shuttle services. Who you gonna call?

Nah man, that supersprint system is righteous. Looks like a well designed set up.

Pldnrs car is looking so good. That's the car with the california top?

I'm in love. Cantrell Motorsports did a great job on fitment. They made all brackets adjustable so I can tweak it easily if/when it settles.

I took a quick video this morning at the shop, but it really doesn't do the exhaust justice. There's some popping on the video that does not exist IRL. Definitely quieter than the IE (more muffled), a bit more bass-ey, and no drone cruising. Much quieter in the car.

https://youtu.be/zt4c3hQE8SU

I took a vid driving into work, trying to capture the in-car sound. I'm in a meeting right now where I can't play videos out loud so I don't know how this turned out... Curious about the tunnel segment.

https://youtu.be/BD5hLkQd8ec

Expensive, but it's become clear to me that when it comes to exhausts, you get what you pay for.

Super cekzy! I agree with the get what you pay for in exhaust dept.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback after chance to enjoy it a little more, and blast it in some tunnels and under overpasses etc.

I know those long draw headers are the' ticket.

Those wheels with the black faces really do work. I'm not a fan of 16" rz's but with the black/machined it gives the "slot car" look. Looks grippy. You're dialing this car in. What's next, or in the far future?

Yea, i have to say I'm quite happy with the way the wheels turned out. The milled lips just make me smile.

Frankly, the exhaust was really the only major thing left. There's a list of little annoying things, but nothing major:

- Still never hooked up the heated seat power
- About 50% of the shadowline is still ghetto vynil tape... I have all the right parts just a lack of motivation/time
- Euro bumpers could be adjusted to be a little tighter to body
- I have a set of Dinan 19/25 sway bars & re-enforcement kit. The plan was to use on the Blue car, but I'm kinda curious...
- The amp attached to the back seat is in the way of installing my rear headrests. The thought of moving it just for this kinda makes me ill, so I'll probably never install them
- Dash crack is slooowly growing. I have considered using this car as my test-mule for having a leather covered dash done to test the guy I have selected to do the interior of the Blue car. Plus there's a squeak coming from in front of the cluster and I think removing the dash will be the only way to fix.

Pretty much the perfect E28. For me.

Oh ok, GLWS.

No, but seriously; this thread is a testament unto itself. Not just because of the sheer length but also the quality. It is essentially a base for making a good car great.

I wouldn't put the big sways on, it would upset the originality too much. Vlad is OEM+, the blue car is for super duper turbo time. I will make a excuse when it is on the road in 16 months to have a ride/drive in it.

The way you document shit makes it a pleasure of all ours, if you could only quit making us so jealous we would have something on this site. :D

The morning I drove to 5erWest, I polished and waxed Vlad for the first time since it was painted. I was in such a rush, I didn't take any pictures until I got to 5erWest. I didn't take my real camera so these were taken with my Nexus 6S phone...not bad for a smartphone camera...

I got a burrito before leaving Seattle and when I went to open the driver's door there was a "pop" and the door wouldn't open. I was able to get into the car on the passenger side and figured out I could open the drivers' door from the inside. I panicked and called Kohler asking if he thought I should risk fixing it in Portland or go home first. He walked me off the ledge and said we'd figure it out in Portland.

When we got to the Old Chicago parking lot I pulled the door panel off and discovered that the little clip that holds the tumbler in place had popped out.

From another thread:
Image

Fortunately the little spring and other stuff was still in place and we found the clip in the bottom of the door. Some borrowed tools (Evan? Thank you!) and I was able to get the clip back in and fixed. Whew.

The car drove brilliantly all weekend. The 5erDrive around Mt. Hood was spectacular and i had been nominated to lead.

Image

I lost the pack before we headed down the back-side of Hood due to some mis-communication. There was no traffic and suffice to say I let her rip. Fastest I've driven this car. The roads were so open that I was able to do a few panic-brake tests. Stable as stable can be.

This year we took a slightly different route, driving on the Cooper Spur Road (https://goo.gl/maps/FaJSFrtwMt92) which was a-maze-ing. Just a hoot.

This weekend it was time for some regular "24 month" maintenance items (recall the M30B35 was put in early July 2014). I checked the brakes and the pads are due (PO put new pads on at 164k and I now have 192k). I was going to flush the brake fluid today, but since the pads are due I'm going to do a full brake job as soon as the new pads/rotors I've ordered come, maybe next weekend.

I flushed the coolant, topped off the PS fluid, and a checked out pretty much everything else on the list. Someday I'll figure out how to flush the coolant without getting coolant all over me when removing the bolt in the block.

Seems like I just changed the oil, but checking my records that was in December at 187K miles. So it's time to do it again... maybe next weekend.

I love looking at this car and the body color bumpers are really sharp. Personally I think a set of 16" BBS RZ (are those the rare magnesium ones on Bruce Bockelman's M5?) would really suit it over the black centers. Either way, it's lovely.

The wheels on the car ARE 16" BBS RZs.

Harumpfh.

I must be getting old or something.

I SWEAR when I took the wheels off and looked at the brake pads they were obviously near EOL. Today, after finally getting the right replacement pads, I pulled the wheels off again...all ready to do the job.

Good news is I now have everything to do the brakes when they DO need to be done.
