Does anyone know if there is a difference between the k27s that have a red tag or blue tag on them ?

I have a red tag K27 I pulled off a late '81 Ljet 745i. Compressor wheel is a 47mm inducer and a 75mm exducer. My my math that works out to around a 0.40 trim. But it will make 400hp!! Anyway...

Cannot measure the turbine wheel sorry. Turbo was more coked up than Rick James in his heyday so it seized, shaft snapped, and turbine wheel bounced around, and bent the tips of the wheel.

Seems to me my '85 turbo has a blue tag as does the '83 which is a 12/82 build. Cannot recall on the '84, sorry.

Yah any good turbo shop can provided there is no major damage. Figure about $400 plus tax local. Then you still have a tiny compressor K27, which is pretty pointless. I cannot measure the exhaust wheel as I do not have a good core out of a car currently, but trying to measure my damaged turbine wheel it seemed to be decent sized. 72mm/60mm... but these could be off 2-6mm easily due to my damage.

The 60-1 (57mm/76mm) fits in there as does a GT35R wheel (61mm/82mm). I have seen real Garret wheels for about $100 which should install pretty easy plus housing machine which can be from $100-150, any extra work I am sure you will need to add the wheel, add about $100.

I would just order one up from TCD so you have a K27 that can actually make some power as opposed to a stock rebuild. Sure Ecartoys/GearheadsHQ offers a 35R wheel in one, but David is not a trustworthy person to deal with anymore. There is always some story, runaround, or total dodging when confronted with his products and lack of support.

TCD ships fast, has tech support, and is reliable!
