What is the best way to keep these two from coming apart?

Besides me keeping my foot out of it that is!

Fabricate aluminum pipe with beads to hold the couplings. I ended up with a band saw and bench sander piecing bends & reducers together. There's an older guy in Redmond that welds aluminum. You can place the recirculation bypass valve where you want it & make things tidy. I have only 3 couplings for my charge pipe & they don't pop anymore; the idle control valve is better spaced too. I also redid the intake pipe from the maf to the turbo; miller's pipe was 5" wide & hit both the engine & the frame. Customizing aluminum pipe this way is pretty fun, and you can drink beers in the garage.
The couple hundred dollars for the sander, band saw & aluminum, and ~ $45/hr for the welding are much cheaper than any shop.

Did you pick up another project? I don't remember you having a green car.

I had good luck with quality clamps and some hairspray to keep my old charge pipe setup together. I'm using tbolt clamps now and haven't had a issue.

You can roll the end of the red pipe over to create a bead. I just weld a small bead around the ends of pipes, but that would destroy the purty finish. It doesn't even need to go all the way around. About an inch of bead every 120 degrees around would be sufficient.

Take the red pipe to a mahine shop and have them flare the end or bead roll.

Many shops have a bead roller or a hydraulic flare machine.

Then get T-bolt clamps.

Bellow is newer and not hard.

Thanks everyone, I think there were some very good answers to the question.

That is an insanely cool car. Not another one like it on the planet. Good luck to both of you!

Interesting... any reason you run no IC? I have a stock 745 IC for my setup, and wondering if it's a waste of time to mount and plumb it in.
