For those of you running some form of standalone or Megasquirt, does your cruise control work?
Have you had any issues with it?
Do you actually use it?
I ask while putting m y 533i back together.

It will have no trouble with the E28 cruise, as it is pretty much a standalone device. It does look at the tach and speedo, though, so both need to work.

ditto, doesn't look at tach though, i slotted a cruise into my old b35 swapped 81 633 so i know every wire that was connected, speedo sender in diff breaks a 12v source 7 times per axle rotation, brake light switch, clutch switch, power and ground is pretty much it

I thought it did look at the tach to check for engine acceleration rate, but obviously I could be mistaken. (ETM confirms I am mistaken.)

not with the cruise, just what i listed in first post besides the components of the cruise, you have the speed signal off the back of the cluster and the pedal switches, a injection swap shouldn't effect the cruise in any way unless you took something apart under dash on drivers side, cruise would still work if the car was swapped to a carb

Thanks winfred! I'm a ways from that point, just thinking ahead.
