Yeah, if you have AFR readings that what's your question?
What should you do? What are you doing right now?

You want to know what the screws do?
What are you seeing right now?

Help us to help u. :argue:

my afrs stay between 14 and 15.7 at all time idle cruise and wot? is that right and it runs like it has a slight miss once its warmed up, also i'm not 100 percent on the step by step of adjusting the afm adjusting the fmu seems straight forward i might be wrong though. is the o2 sensor suppose to stay connected when making adjustments?

all sensors are new btw, tps, coolant, thermo switch

15.7 is too lean and will cause misfires. Get it under 15:1 under idle and cruise and below 13:1 under boost.

after some acceleration then letting it idle if I touch the gas to slow it will die

Your engine is obviously horribly out of tune. You should find someone nearby who can help you, as you may be in over your head.

Turbodan I got the numbers the way u suggested car runs better but its still a little lean under boost but it runs much better is more responsive but I have a problem with it shutting off randomly the info is much appreciated

You may want to start a separate thread for the shut off issue. MUCH more information is needed too. What are you doing when it happens? Do you lose all power (lights, instruments, etc.) or just the engine?

coming to a stop and taking off again is when it dies letting go of the gas then barley touching it again triggers it not losing any lights or power just the engine shuts off but it starts right back up every time it starts easily doesn't turn over very much before starting

Well first off what engine and engine management are you running? Is your IAC valve functioning? My e2i swapped engine running motronic 1.1 would die on return to idle when my O2 sensor was acting up, do you have yours set up for a narrowband output to motronic?

I have stock motronic 059 ecu I think I found out hit keeps dying if I let off the gas a certain way the afm flap door starts bouncing back and fourth really fast and if the door is flapping and I touch the gas it dies but what is causing this if I loosen the spring so that it doesn't do it any more it runs way to rich

Fixed.

Just curious but I haven't seen anyone mention fuel delivery and if that's functioning properly, though I'm sure the AFRs would be the tool to diagnose that.

What injectors? How much boost?

by rod2190
30lb injectors running only 7 pounds till I get it all figured out then prolly bump it up to 14

Afrs idle, 14.6-15.3 never exactly stable number part throttle no boost same afr part throttle under boost low 14's and wot is 10 but that's the lowest my gauge reads

gonna need more injector for that much air, then the tuning starts all over

I just did the rebuild was trying to take it easy for a little while for a "break in" but u think I should go ahead and set it at 14 and try tuning ? Also I was told by Todd 30lbs are good for up to 15psi not true?

Posted: May 26, 2013 11:11 PM
by winfred
ill not go against todd's experience, maybe with a fmu upping the pressure they are enough as that overrides the rating

I have my adjustment screw set full closed u think opening it up a little and re adjusting the black wheel could fix the bouncing afm?

the bypass screw on the afm only adjusts idle, you usually want the wiper in the 2nd segment of the trace, with screw closed tweak spring till its in the neighborhood then crack screw 1-2 turns and see how it idles, you may need to go one tooth on wheel one way or the other. i can tweak a afm pretty good on a NA car, boosted will not be as easy
