Need some help with MSII (final stages of conversion)

Alright guys, B34 motor, running no ICV, no AFM, E36 TPS, Map sensor on the board, B35 crank pulley and sensor. I just have a few questions.
Looking over a few threads and reading there isn't much info on the b35 pulley install. Do I need to have the motor at TDC and then swap the pulleys or anything like that?
As far as no ICV goes how did you guys get your idle set up? How did you set the throttle?
Next, as far as all the ground go, how successful was using the grounds from the old ECU? I know they connect to the valve cover but did anyone find they had to move them?
As far as the sensor ground goes, where did you guys find got the least interference?
I just want to make sure I have all things buttoned up before I even attempt to start the car. Thanks for any tips or advice!

They are only one way to put the hamonic damper= doyel pin.
Most people put an ICV with a control board on the MS for the idle..

I used all the oem grounding points.
+1 on iac. If not for idle, at least for warmup- unless you live somewhere warm year 'round.

If you are going to all the trouble to install MS and tune it properly, install an IACV. I also used all the factory ground points.

Thanks guys I realized it had the mounting pin after I actually got the wheel yesterday, I might run an ICV but most of the guys I know don't run it. Heck, the guy at my work with an m20 turbo is running a map sensor only.
One more question. How did you guys set up the b35 trigger wheel sensor? I got the bracket but I couldn't figure out where to mount it. I'm probably just blind but if anyone has a picture or anything that would be super helpful.
Also does anyone have a tune for a mostly stock b34 I could look at? Just to get a head start on getting the car running.

Is this a turbo car or NA only?

it's ready for a turbo, I just want to get it running while still N/A to get the hang of tuning.

For the harmonic damper, remove the 13mm (8 i remember) bolts from the pulley, remove the pulley and remove the damper...
BEFORE EVERYTHING, INSTALL THE VR SENSOR BRACKET.You need to take one 10mm bolt from the lower chain cover for the bracket. Install your damper and put some blue locktight on your bolts..
I did the job twice because i forgot to put the bracket first..

Then you will probably want to go ahead and build your map bins to accomodate boost. If you were only ever going to be NA only, you'd want to rescale for better map resolution. There are several really good timing tables in the MS FAQ thread. I'd be careful just copying an entire MSQ as there are a lot of differences from setup to setup that could haunt you later. It's more work, but building one from scratch is a good learning experience as well as knowing exactly what settings have been entered and if they are correct for your setup.

Good question about the trigger wheel. I need to swap out the damper on the m106 in exchange for a b35 trigger wheel and was wondering the same procedure. Are you using diypnp or just MSII?

Standard ms2 I built the board and pigtail myself. I've literally got everything I need to finish. I'm just waiting on my stupid alternator bushings to come in from Ireland engineering. Then I just have to quadruple check my board and get one wire fixed on the pigtail and it'll be ready to plug in and start. I'm pretty nervous about tuning it. As stated above I'm going to run no icv so I guess warmup maps need to be done on times intervals or by engine temperature. When I put the b35 sensor bracket on I'll post pictures to show where and how it goes on.
Ohh one more thing. I need to build the launch control in the proto area. But that might come later.

Nice! All I have left to tune is get a starting map and tune from there, I've come a far way. By the way I mounted up the b35 trigger wheel tonight, do you still need photos of the VR mount?

Yes please that would be awesome. I'm in brazil right now so I'm trying to get everything planed so when I get back I can just go balls to the wall and try to get it ready to run before this next drift event.

When raining a lot here, hence the mud.
Wish I would have taken a photo with the wheel off, would have been a lot easier to see the mounting points.
I guess this was mounted on my m106 from the factory, which is weird because they don't use a VR sensor off the crank. So I hope this helps.
Also, I think I missed what engine you have. I was just assuming you had some type of m30 variant. Hope this is all relevant for you.

Thanks! That helps me a lot. Now I can get this thing done!

Yeah I got it all set up and wired in. I'll take a picture of how it mounts tonight. I've just been running into a bunch of small pieces on the car that break and have to be replaced. Once I get everything in i'll be able to start the car.
