Inexpensive oil catch can system...???

Where do I get one?!? Help?? What are the dangers of driving a 200k mile engine turbo charged and finding oil in your charge pipes?? Does it affect my turbo?? I know liquid doesn't compress like gases....so....???? E28 turbo "know it alls" please inform me...

Why are you getting oil in the charge pipes? I don't think you need a catch can, you just need to route the breather hose before the turbo.

So I can do that and it's ok..??? It's gonna put oil into the compressor of the turbo. Is that ok??

How do you have the breather hose routed now and how much oil is being blown through?

oh wow so how i'm understanding this you have the breather in the boost pipe.
While your boosting? Boosting into the crank case? Does your dipstick like to pop out?

On my 745 breather hose goes in ahead of compresso , so it's always sucking, never blowing into crankcase.

HAHAHAHA HELL NOI!!! My breather is just vented to the atmosphere. I have a air filter on it but it is not routed to anything. Enough oil comes out that I can't keep the engine as clean as I'd like and it bugs me.

You may find that keeping the crankcase under vacuum like the factory intended will clean up your issue.

gotcha so the rings must be kinda toast to be blowing that bad.
oil in the boost pipes vented to atmo the oil is being leaked out the turbo.
it'll get worse eventually. pressurizing it with oil will also do this if the return line is shit. hope this helps.

a good catch can is sorta expensive but in your case i would run it through the catch can and into the turbo
to get rid of some pressure.

I saw a video that suggested that the return line restriction could cause something similar. That was actually my next place to look. I just wanted to first make sure it wasn't something I was over looking in the way of crankcase ventilation. I don't have a build thread with pictures and stuff. When I had time to put the system together I had to focus on doing it efficiently and quick and get back to work the next week...lol. However, I will definitely keep ya'll updated. I get a lot of good answers here. I can describe my set up and take pics if yall want.

btw you need at least a 10an size drain. at least.
3an feed is fine. what turbo is it? The bearing should just be bathing in oil not pressurized.
maybe the turbo is shot. is it clocked straight up and down like it should?
