looks like delphin grey to me, certainly now brown.


edit- i stand corrected thanks to my dealership contact. 087 Graphite Metallic over 0162 Red leather. This car also has a warranty entry in 2012 on a power steering hose job

can you post some undercarriage shots? this car looks really, really clean, but I am amazed that a car that lived in IL and WI its entire life is truly "rust free"

i have the car fax and i know two of the owners
car has been protected from the midwest salt
it is trully clean and rust free
unfortunately the car is in Wisconsin where my other toys are hidden
so on Friday when i go there I will take a few pictures

so far what i have done is
replace the m30b32 with a documented m30b34 from an 1988 635
also ditched the 3hp18 and replaced it with and 4hp22 that was rebuild by Twinn Transmission in Franklin Park Il , that is where I work
replaced the open 3,25 with a fresh build S3,25LSD
send the tank to be cleaned and resealed and put new fuel pump
switched the ugly metal P/S set up with the newer aluminum later set up
pads and rotors all around are OEM BMW so no upgrades just refreshed
starter is the b35 smaller unite
i have now the e31 840 16' wheels with new snow tires , not the moda by BBS on the pictures
I have a style 32s from and e39 540 m package wheels and a spare , 2 17x9s and 3 17x8s
I have a crack free dash , cause if you look closely there is a small crack starting in the middle
I have the e23 745 turbo subframe so you can have a rear sway bar
and i have the e23 745 turbo trunk spoiler so it can hide the palm dents on the trunk , cause some one couldnt figure out how to tighten the bolts on the tail gate so they keep on slamming it to try to close it
I do have the BMW repair manual folder so anybody can fix this car
and also have a complete 5 spd conversion but i decided to keep it automatic

the bad
the car needs new shocks and struts , i have another struts so you can load them and put them as a quick replacment
the HVAC fan control is broken so i have one rebuild one and another spare that can be replaced when the dash was going to be done
but for now i have the heater houses looped so no HEAT as of right now , or i can just plug them back in and heat will be on all the time
i have not recharged the A/C after i replaced the engine cause I bought an 134 conversion kit , so no A/C for now

I have a problem posting pictures here so that is why i created the CL listing
so I will try to put more pictures there

This would make a great platform to swap my turbo, megasquirt m30b35/265/6 trans powertrain into. I wish I had started with a rust free car like this.

as long as you bring a heavy coat or the weather is higher than 60 degrees you can take it anywhere you want
and if it makes it easier for you i can drive it to chicago and pick you up with it
if i dont sell it by april next year i will be driving it to Bethlehem PA for my friend's birthday
he says he would like to see it again and take his kids for a ride
I guess they had fun riding in my e28 535 but they said it sounded loud and made a tire noises so he hopes the 733 will be more suitable

Any updates on this? Interested in seeing photos showing the front rocker panels where the bottoms of the front fenders attach.

as of right now there will be no new pictures added
i went to a birthday party and i woke up without my phone and credit card
so all of the pictures are somewhere but not with me
i made a mistake with the color - it is not BROWN , the picture with the brown color code is from my e23 745
the e23 733 is something grafit GRAY but i dont remember the correct name nor code
as of right now the plane is either to go back and drive the car back to chicago and put it up on the lift and take pictures from under the car
or drive it to my friends house in wisconsin and leave it with him so he can post it on facebok and answer all the questions
it i end up doing that then i will bring the rest of the parts to him

after being in a non heated and air cooled storage in Wisconsin the car started and run as it should
but that is the good news
after driving it in the rain the wipers had their own idea of how fast they should work and when they want to stop
the camera doesnt show where the rear driver door has a dent from an jack being used on the wrong place
the jackass next to me must have opened his door at least 10 times and made dings on the passenger front door
the car need a good dent guy to fix all of those dents
the exhaust from my e23 745 turbo is held by a trusty OEM BMW seatbelt
i was trying to see what kind of millage i was getting and the gears had enough and the trip meter stopped
so i could not reach 97k miles
the driver side low beam is sealed beam - I dont know how that happened
the good thing is that i had a smile from ear to ear driving this car
the m30 was a smooth as it could be and the transmission shifted just fine - unfortunatelly at our shop we only give 1 year or 12000 miles which ever comes first so my woranty is expired so today when the builder that did all of the upgrades and updates he drove it and was smiling and looking at me that he forgot how this cars use to drive , he was happy to feel young again
so that is all for now

so the 3.5 hours drive to the new owner was much more enjoyable
the odo gears were fixed as well
but i left the wiper motor to be his first project
