So I bought a new fan clutch and fan blade on rock auto because they were missing on my car. But that fan blade does not fit the clutch, the boltholes don't line up at all and the hole in the fan is too small to fit over the clutch. The rockauto site lists this fan and clutch for the car, what gives?

It is an e12 528i with an m30b35 swap.

Looks kinda like this fan is closer to the right fit but it's for a 1990 535i. I think it's weird that they list both these parts to fit a 528i because they would never work regardless or the engine swap

The fan clutch you bought is correct: 11521723918. But the fan blade is wrong...must use 11521273086 Fan 9 blade D=420MM.

Fan blade you get (11521259802) is just 8 blades and not interchangeable (can´t fit the clutch)

Ok I think i'm just an idiot and the fan bolts to the back of the clutch not over top, there are a second set of holes on the blade. This fan is a 9 blade fan. I should try harder before just deciding the world is against me and spend an hour making a pointless post.

Don't feel bad, I've stood there pondering why the two won't bolt together before eventually figuring it out.
