Still some intermittent issues with accessing site

I'm periodically having issues accessing the site - I'll try to get here but my computer will time out and I'll get an error message, and some times I'll be able to get to the main page but won't be able to go to any of the different sections to view posts.  Then, other times (like now) the site operates normally and functions quickly.  This seems to happen nearly every day, I won't be able to access the site but if I wait a couple hours and try again everything works like it's supposed to.

Initially after the upgrade I did have to clear cookies in order to get here, so there shouldn't be any residual effects left over from 'before times'.

You are not alone.


The old host, which was really old, and has finally been shot in the head, had some odd DNS configuration. Some of the world-wide DNS nameservers are still coughing up old DNS records.

I've been tearing my hair out, and working with both Catalyst and Justin_Fl to get this resolved for the past weeks. It SHOULD have already been resolved, but it happened to me again today. Suddenly www.mye28.com stopped responding. 

If this happens to you, go to https://172.178.126.249 and see if it works (it'll show as insecure). If it does, then it's the DNS problem. If it doesn't, then it's something else. Report it here in Comments.

If it IS the DNS problem here are some short-term work arounds:

1. Change the DNS provider your browser is using. If you are already using one service provider, try another temporarily:


2. Go to https://forums.mye28.com instead. 

NOTE: If you do this some things will be broken. DO NOT use https://forums.mye28.com if https://www.mye28.com is working.

(Note, once the DNS issue is 100% resolved, I plan on making forums.mye28.com an alias of www.mye28.com.)

This morning the site first appeared to not be accessible, but I backed out and tried again immediately and it let me in the second time.

OpenDNS dropped the main URL at about 8:30p EST 01/04/25

Stopped resolving mye28.com however forums.mye28.com works.

I just fixed one of the causes of this. 

Hopefully that fix will fix the OTHER cause.

If anyone experiences this failure again, please post here. Specifically IF:

• You go to www.mye28.com and it can't connect.
• But you CAN still connect to either forums.mye28.com or wiki.mye28.com

If both the above are true, I need to hear about it!

I was on early this morning, then mid-morning the site wasn't accessible, and now (2pm central time) I'm back on again.  Hopefully your fix works in the long run.

25 was easier to keep up with, but doesn't really matter, more curiosity when I came across a thread with 26 post on the same page.
