Window Switch Bulbs - Anyone know a source?

Post by ricky-b »

I took the advice on the FAQ section and spent saturday night dissasembling and cleaning the window switches in my E28 M5. And to my amazement, they work!

The FAQ said that the later switches have replacable bulbs and I believe mine are due to the fact they and the socket are separate from the housing and contacts. Some of bulb sockets were corroded pretty bad and I assume that I need to replace those as well, but I can't find either. :?

I've been using www.realoem.com to do my homework and it seems to be nearly identical to a BMW parts dept. lookup.

Anybody had any luck finding these?

ETK does not seem to list parts for the switches, so I plan to part out a switch for the one in the car that needs a bulb.

I'm also looking for a source for these bulbs. They are obviously intended to be replaceable. Anyone know where you get the bulbs from?

I'd settle for just knowing what wattage they are.

I realize this is an ancient thread, but the bulb in question is a 7219 bulb. Don’t know if they come in any voltage other than 12v, but that doesn’t matter for us, as ours are 12v.
