Dirt Cheap Wheels?

Post by runningpanda »

I really want to get my BBS basketweaves refinished. I know it's a long shot and I will probably get ridiculed for asking, but would anyone happen to have either dirt cheap wheels or wheels they would give me for no charge? I just need something to ride on until the wheels are finished.
I know it's a long shot and I don't actually expect to get anyone who would give me a set of wheels.
Local is much rather preferred considering shipping cost for wheels.
Additional note, my car is a 1984 528e needs 5 lug wheels.
Thanks.

I am changing to 16" wheels. Where are you located, how soon do you need them? I am working on a project car with my son, and have 4 wheels and tires on the car we need to part with. Let me know. Curtis

Well I would like them soon, but there is no pressure or any deadline for getting them.

Check your local yards and try some high volume used wheel places. I came across some 14" bottlecaps with new Michelins on them a year ago for $100 at a used wheel and tire shop. I didn't need them at the time, but I could kick myself now for not picking them up.

I have some good (as good as TRXs get) TRXs. If you have a way to get them (in NC) you can just scrap them and send me the cash when you're done.

Same deal, TRXs on bottle caps - if TN is closer than NC...
