why is this part so expensive? (have not got steves price)
the rear of my car seems to bounce around on acceleration.
mount does not look good. 1985 535i.
auto parts online canada wants 300 bones for this part.
i did some searching on this forum and found new pricing to be under 100. it seems like their engine mounts just went up in price too from 30 to 70
what????

i have the one from the super eta that was replaced with a new OEM one, 20 plus shipping.
Bouncing can indicate blown shocks, but a separated mount can cause clunking upon sudden acceleration or right after putting the car in reverse.

more like clunking

Yeah, and they are completely interchangeable. The expensive one you are being quoted on is the piece of shit model, and the one used on the 528e and lots of others is stronger and less failure prone. And its only about $60 new. Take some friendly advice and use this one...

Your assumption of "more power, bigger mount" is incorrect...

...especially since there's not a huge difference in power.

Check Autohausaz.com

Last time I looked, a diff mount is around $60 for a 535i or 635CSi.
