Where would a cat find a used 535i/535is gauge cluster?

EDIT: The car is a 1988 535is with a manual transmission

I told myself that I didn't mind my 535is having a 528e gauge cluster when I bought it.

But, still...4500rpm redline indicated? That's just embarassing. ebay is turning out to be a dry hole for the time being and the local PNP situation isn't that good....who else sells these things?

I did find this place:

With these items in stock:

What does the 'EH' likely refer to? I'd probably just buy the one with no warranty and solder in some new batteries myself.

Start a WTB thread in the "For Sale - Parts" forum. Be certain to include what model year 535i you have, and include the type of transmission, manual or automatic. The EH designation refers to the automatic transmission used in the '85 through '88 535i (s). Also, there are differences between the early and late clusters, however I don't know if that makes a difference when installing a complete cluster.

FWIW, you can swap the speedo and tach to the proper units if your cluster functions properly. Its often harder to find a complete working cluster than these two pieces...

I have extras. Would you like your car to have 80,000 miles or 285,000??

Why would a cat need a gauge cluster? My cat can't even drive. Come to think of it, I don't even HAVE a cat.

Nevermind.

Well...it sorta functions...sometimes....if I'm lucky. The speedo, fuel gauge, and mpg thing have a mind of their own.
