My transmission gave up finaly on my 735il 91. I am on the market for rebuild trasmission or good used unit. If you have used unit please tell me aproximate miles and condition of the transmission and price you asking. I don't want used transmission with more than 100k on it. I need ZF 4hp22EH (electronic). Thank you.

I have one from an 89 535i that has just under 80k miles. I parted the car in the late '90s and the tranny and converter have been on a shelf since then. I drove the car to the shop and then dismantled as it was not economically repairable.

$500 obo

A couple sources come to mind;

Guy named "Danny" in Van Nuys, Calif, is an E24 enthusiast nad has an eBay site. He may not have any transmissions listed, but trust me, he has like, 4.

his e-mail is lvcurves0190@hotmail.com

I've dealt with Danny many times - very trustworthy and reasonably priced. If you're in San Diego, it may be worth your while to make the trip up here to the SFV. Not only to pick the tranny, but he has a bunch of other stuff too.

The "Other-Guy" sells stuff on these boards.
Shipping from Lodi Cal may be a little more, but his area has loads of Bimmers. If he can score on one of the half-price days, it would offset shipping costs.
Ask him yourself:
