Thanks,

Ask one of the Beamters to Sticky it, M535i is.
I thought they might do that but might not be important enough for a permanent spot. And a very narrow audience.

Patrick,
You never opened the PM I sent you?

This is what I sent almost a month ago. 8/8/12

Patrick,

Thanks for sending your name and VIN but I'm afraid this may be a Canadian car or an interior swap.

All the 30 Black on Black cars VINs start with
2875XXX. Manuf 11/87

Look in the drivers side door jam. There should be a sticker with the manuf date and the country.

Thanks,
Gary

I just bought an e28 M5 with black interior and VIN WBSDC9304J2791091, but the production date is 01/1987. Does that make sense to anyone? Also, I'm posting a thread regarding my SLS suspension. Please check it out if you can help. Thanks everyone in advance and I'm happy to be part of the club...

Was your car a black interior swap??

Be sure to add it to the BMW M registry anyway!

Just added it to the registry. I bought the car from a dealer in Minnesota, so maybe it's Canadian? Also, I found some paperwork that has an interior trim code of 0237 which I think is natur.

Great to hear from you.
I to think this is a Canadian car.
This is a VIN from a 2/87 Canada car.
WBSDC9304J2791205
Look in the door jam for the manuf plate. Should say Canada.
Thanks for the posting and saving another M5.

Interesting that there is no mention of the aftermarket side skirts or rear apron.

Car did not meet the reserve at $16600.

We'll see if it gets relisted. Some zero bidders which is just a joke.

I met the buyer of this car today at Cars n Coffee in Irvine. He has all the original paperwork. Looks like it was owned by someone in Sherman Oaks (John Armstrong, possibly the original owner?), then bought last year. Quick flip. It needs some attention to detail but overall not a bad looking car. I told him to check out our board. He's new to E28's...go easy on him.

So John did this car sell outside of eBay?
It never reached the reserve, twice.

Thanks for letting me know.
Hope I'll hear from the new owner?

I knew right away it was the M5 recently on e-bay, although the buyer did not provide any details of how he picked it up.

PM sent.

Thanks for posting.

I often wonder how many of the 30 are still left.

I don't have a Carfax account but always wanted to run all the numbers and see what came up?

Another bb in So Cal

Post by twomanytickets »

Hello Gary,

Life goal accomplished, finally able to enjoy an E28 M5. Although I did not set out to find a bb, that is the one that was for sale on the west coast.

WBSDC9309J2875231 11/87

In good shape, not a perfect car, but well cared for, doing a little sorting out, post pics when done.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for contacting me. Always good to know another M5 is in good hands and especially a black interior car with an owner named Gary.
Yes, 231 manufactured 11/9/87.
I will add you to the list.
Is the car also registered on the M Registry?
Yes it is I just looked. You can email the owner of the site RC, and tell him you are the new owner and he will give you access to change the owner info.
