Electric fuel pumps,What are ya'll using?
I need a new external electric fuel pump. What do you recommend?
Re: Electric fuel pumps,What are ya'll using?
I used the Walbro GSL392 in my turbo 633 with RRFPR and it works great. Also put one in my M5. I like that with a few fittings it can be made to fit in replacement of the oem pump and can be reversed back at any time.
Speaking of which, my ebay watched item is on sale for a great price of $60. Can't go wrong with it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131408669917?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
You need the following for a comprehensive replacement:
1 - Walbro 255lph inline fuel pump (I used Walbro GSL392)
1 - 8mm barb - 10mm x 1.0mm male (Walbro P/N 128-3024)
1 - 12mm barb - 10mm x 1.0mm male (Walbro P/N 128-3025)
1 - Few meters of 8mm x 13mm fuel house (BMW P/N 13311722262), 5/16" works fine.
1 - Meter of 12mm x 18mm fuel hose (BMW P/N 16121176440)
7/16" will work IF you can locate high pressure EFI line.
1 - New hose clamps, ABA or style that does not cut into hose

Great answer, and a great price on the pump!
Are you the ebay seller?
Do you offer the 8 and 12mm barbs?
I'd love to get it all from you.
I figured the walbro 255 would be the popular answer, but I hope others will chime in to confirm.
I've been running twin bosch stock fp in parallel, which works, but is super loud.

I'm not the seller, I just bookmarked the seller after I overpaid one time.
I got the pieces off ebay by using the Walbro part number.
I think it's more noisy than stock but not by much.

Same as tschultz...actually most of that info looks like a verbatim copy from my write up on Scottie's 745i site. I had that pump on my Ljet for years, then the car was parted and that pump has migrated to my 10/84. The other runner is stock now, so it utilizes a stock pump.
$60 is significantly less than I paid years ago, I would do it and not think twice!
