Post by Prizm »

In the processes of setting up Megasquirt ms2 v3.0. I have this harmonic bal from a 88 525i m20b25

I am runing an eta 83 528e m20b27.
Counted 58 teeth with 2 missing, need to make sure that it is considered a (60 - 2).

Secondly, what vr seonsor do you recomend i use?

Lastly, what are my options for coil pack sould i mod a edi6 and coil? Or is there a better option?

Planing to do all new wiring for this install, and some good shielded wire for the vr.

Any additional information would be greatly appreciated

THANKS

You're assessment on the teeth is correct. I would think any 1.3 motronic crank sensor would work fine but I'm not sure how the mounting would work on the early M20s...

I'm running LS2 coils in wasted spark. No complaints.

Awesome thank you, Found the tooth count in the ms faq, but was still unsure about what crank sensor to get so that helps a lot.
Planning to go gm dis baseplate with ac delco coil packs.

Do you remember the ruff cost of a ls2 coil set up?

Gm dis is like 150 for coils 3 coils 2 plugs ea, and base plate was free. "work in junk yard"

- Thanks

I think I paid like $50 on ebay for 8 of them. They were a little rough looking but they are genuine AC/Delco. I just reused the stock spark plug wires. I bought the electrical connectors and made my own wiring harness. I made a mounting plate out of some aluminum I had lying around.

Thats great looking. I was thinking ls2 coils would be more expensive, but there are some good deals right now on ebay for them. Getting closer on my board assembly Image
