Would you boost a dirty 10:1 b34? Why or why not? If you would boost, what would your ideal setup be?

Re: Dirty dirty b34 boosting question
I'd probably pass on turbocharging it and simply go with MS2 or some other engine management to extract power if I had the engine already.
Otherwise, a low boost setup would be reasonable-- but why worry when parts are so expensive? Seems like if you are adding a full turbo system and dealing with the engine management to control it you may as well just use a US spec engine and have an engine that will be cheaper and easier to get parts.
There are S50 and S52 owners boosting 10.5:1 engines but I think those engines are a bit more common and the engine management is a bit safer with warning codes regarding misfires and such.

Re: Dirty dirty b34 boosting question
With high compression i'd like some kind water/methanol injection system to help combat detonation. If you'd be going for standalone management dropping a B35 head onto a 10:1 motor would drop CR to a point where you could wind a nice bit of boost into the engine.
Re: Dirty dirty b34 boosting question
m30b34 cam + 10psi would make an extremely responsive big torq motor. I would do it if it satisfied my power goals. Tough to do on 91 octane.

You already know the answer.Nebraska_e28 wrote:This should be interesting...
Throw that shit in the garbage and bolt in a b35.
If you're asking me personally yes why not. I use meth injection anyway I've ran 30psi daily on my stock b35. on 99911111.
This engine, I'm going to do e85 because there are many many e85 stations in my area so compression isn't a thing.
Ideal setup is custom. Air/air coolor. ms3. cat "turbo" cam. Probably a new bw turbo.
Find a m30 clutch that can hold it somehow.
