Availability of head studs vs head bolts

Post by 5timesturbo »

At one point I believe I thought arp made both head bolts and head studs for the m30 ending. However, at this point I'm only seeing head studs for the engine.... am I mistaken?? Are head studs the only option available for the m30b34 at this point or should I look more for head bolts?? If anyone knows where I can head bolts please let me know.

Thank you.

Why upgrade from stock head bolts to aftermarket bolts? Won't the bolt yield more easily since it is already under tension throughout the length from the get go? Also, you don't know if the thread tightening torque is actually being applied to the head or just the threads at the bottom...

I've only heard of the studs, but they do (slightly) interfere with the stock valve cover sheet metal baffle on m30.
