Miller MAF M30 Group Buy
Miller MAF M30 Group Buy
Gary (M5BB) has successfully received responses (where I hadn't) from the Miller folk about adding an M30 MAF group buy to the S38/M88 buy already in progress.
The price for the unit is $450 plus shipping, which is a $70 savings over their current interweb pricing. I cannot imagine shipping would differ from the S38/M88 pricing at $25.
Luckily, they are not requiring 10 M30 units to be purchased, so you can piggyback onto their group buy. As of this post, Gary says he has about 6 and I know of at least 3 interested.
Obviously, once the group buy is closed, this pricing is no longer available.
For those of you who inevitably will ask for dyno sheets, etc, they are trying to find them, but it might take a while since they are moving to a new facility.

Chris is helping me with this group buy and I appreciate his help very much.

IF the Miller MAF unit will work on a B&B M30b35 with #179ECU.

Great news everyone.
We have obtained critical mass. Over 10 units with the addition of a few for the M30 guys.
I spoke to Miller today and cleared up a few questions.
Yes, there is a chip for the M88 ECU055 that will allow the MAF to work with this engine.
The PCU-1 accepts inputs from the narrowband O2 sensor and they are going to check with the engineer ( who is out of town today) about it working with the wideband O2 sensor.
Should have that answer by tomorrow.
The purchase procedure will probably be where you can go to their web site and using a code word purchase the items that are discounted and any other pieces you might need.
One person that contacted me is purchasing some other items too.
I'm going to try to send a personal email to all that have told me they would buy. If you read this and haven't gotten an email from me by tomorrow noon then please contact me via PM.

Robert, since I started this group buy with the primary product being the MAF for the M5/6 I'm afraid I don't understand what you are talking about.
I have a 84 533 DD with an M30 but please explain about this compression issue.
Is the O61 your ECU?
I'll be glad to call and find out about this but I need to know what questions to ask?

I'm going to take a wild guess here and say that maybe the maps that come included on the Stage One software provided with the MAF would be incompatible with the 061 ECU , but I don't think the hardware itself would be incompatible, assuming the chip socket is the same. I would bet the actual ECU harness connector is the same also, but truthfully I have NO experience with the 061 ECU. If this were the case it would likely only require the MMS1.3 unit, or perhaps the PCU-1 piggyback and some time figuring out how to "tune the burn" as it were to get the dirty motor to run properly using the MAF. Just so say it I don't think I've even seen an 061, high comp, dirty motor but since the complete Miller system is so highly tuneable I think it would work, with enough sweat equity. This question could probably be answered by Miller.

Sorry for replying so late.M5BB wrote:Robert [...]

Yes, my ECU is a Motronic 0 261 200 061, because I have the Euro high compression (10:1) version of the M30B34 engine, not the US low compression (8:1) version, which uses the Motronic 0 261 200 059 ECU.
I am interested in a Miller MAF only if they include in the kit a chip properly tuned for the 061 ECU. Which, I know, is extremely unlikely.
I am not interested in a solution that has to be tuned by me, because first I don't have the time to do that, and second I would go the MegaSquirt route, if any tuning is involved.
Guys,
I just don't think that we can accomodate all the variations for the different ECU's.
You can contact Miller Performance and see if they can help you.
I do not know the answer, sorry!
